Unwashed
I like to shower in the morning. I don’t feel as if I’ve properly got up until I’ve showered. So I turn the shower on this morning and….nothing happened. No water. Zilch. Zip. Nothing. Not even a trickle.
A couple of weeks ago the water company did some repairs to the water main outside our house and ever since then the supply has been erratic. Sometimes in the middle of showering the water will suddenly stop for a few seconds and then come back on again. Very annoying when you’re all soaped up and wondering if you’re going to be left there stranded, waterless. Or suddenly the pressure will drop so you’re just left with a trickle for a while. But it always has come back again.
Until this morning, when there’s no water at all. At least I wasn’t in the middle of showering when the supply stopped.
So the only water we’ve got at the moment is a small amount in the kettle, so at least we may be able to manage a cup of tea. And what’s in the dog’s water bowl….hmm….no, better not.
Apparently the water for the whole area has been disrupted at the moment.
Now, here’s an interesting question: how long does it take for a heating boiler to run dry and explode, I wonder?
Well, if we suddenly go quiet I suppose you’ll know the answer is: not very long!

Yeah, that's a good idea.
I still haven't had a shower today. The water wasn't back on until about 1.00 PM and I haven't had time since then. Perhaps we'll see if we can put that right later...

No, Chuck, there was no sex today because 'Aunt Flo' is visiting! And hopefully we didn't stink too much.
I'm with you, Cricket, I can't function without a shower in the morning - well, I suppose I did today, but it didn't feel right.
